Windows10のメジャーアップデートの注意点 （Notes of Windows10 major update）

11月12日から開始されたWindows10のメジャーアップデートですが、少し問題点があります。

メジャーアップデートはそれまでの問題点を解消するものですが、ときには改悪することもあります。

また、新たな問題点が含まれることもあります。

今回、実際にメジャーアップデート(TH2)を適用してみて感じたことをご紹介します。

まず、アップデートに時間が掛かる。
（First, it takes time to update.）
だいたい、2時間は掛かります。

そして、アップデート中は、Windows10のインストール中の画面になります。

一瞬、クリーンインストールを始めたのかと思いますが、これは間違いではありません。

次に、アップデート後は、ディスクの容量が減ります。

Windows.oldフォルダーが作られて、10GBくらいの容量があります。

これを消すと、元のビルドに戻すことはできません。

おそらく、Windows10をインストールしたときと同じように、1か月経つと自然に消えると思います。

尚、Windows7/8からWindows10にアップグレードした直後には、このWindows.oldフォルダーがありますので、TH2へのアップデートはできないようです。

このフォルダーを消すと、TH2へのアップデートができるようです。

そして、アプリの挙動がおかしくなる。

これはお使いのパソコンや環境に依存するのかも知れませんが、私の場合はメールがおかしくなりました。

メールの更新が止まるようになりましたので、全てのアカウントを削除して、もう一度、再設定しました。

そして、バックグラウンドで「システムと圧縮メモリ」が高負荷で動作するようになります。

これは、TH2以前で動いていたのかは分かりませんが、TH2アップデート後から動作が重くなったので、タスクマネージャーで調べてところ、見慣れない項目を発見しました。

しばらくすると落ち着いてきますが、結構な高負荷で動いています。

アップデート後は、再度設定を見直しましょう。

そして、コルタナは全ての状況で使えるわけではありません。

使えるアプリは限られています。

さらに、右クリックメニューが使えない問題もあるようです。

無線Lanが使えなくなったとの情報もあります。

一番困るのは、勝手にアップデートしてしまうこと。

アップデート後に元のビルドに戻すことはできますが、だったら最初からアップデートを選択式にして欲しい。

今回のアップデートは、今までのサービスパックと違って、改悪に近いです。

もしかすると、Windows.oldフォルダーを残しておけば、TH2のアップデートは適用されないかも知れません。

Windows10をクリーンインストールしたパソコンや、新規でWindows10のパソコンを購入した場合、Windows.oldフォルダーはありません。

フォルダーの新規作成で、Windows.oldフォルダーを作成しておけば、TH2のアップデートは回避できるかも？
