米Microsoftは3月30日、米国サンフランシスコで開催されている開発者向けのカンファレンス「Build2016」において、Windows 10の2016年版のアップデート「Anniversary Update」を夏にリリースすることを発表しました。
（Microsoft Corp. on March 30, in the conference "Build2016" for developers who have been held in the United States San Francisco, announced that it will release the Update "Anniversary Update" in the 2016 version of Windows 10 in the summer.）
アップデートは無償で提供されます。
（Updates are provided free of charge.）
Anniversary Updateは、以前からRedstone1(RS1）というコード名で開発されていたアップデートです。

Anniversary Updateでは、ナチュラルインターフェイスの向上を目指している。

Windows 10対応のAdobe Illustratorでは、ペンを使ってラフに書いたイラストを、しっかりした線で本格的なイラストに仕上げられる。

Microsoftでは、PCやスマホの中にあるデータの意味を認識して、Cortanaが本当の意味でデジタル秘書として利用できるようにしていくという。

また、WebブラウザのMicrosoft Edgeでは、WebサイトのログインにWindows Helloが利用できるようになる。これにより、WebサイトへのログインにIDやパスワードを使うのではなく、顔認識や指紋認識（生体認証）などでログインできるようになる（Webサイト側での対応は必要）。
